Transform your Closet For Just $300 With A Fitz Wardrobe Stylist

TimeOdd Stories - Fitz

Styling startup Fitz will fill up your wardrobe.

If you missed the days when Kim Kardashian was cleaning closets, you can still get the star treatment with a wardrobe revamp from Fitz, a home organization and styling startup that launched earlier this year.

For just $300 (a fraction of what Kim K probably charged), Fitz will send two stylists to your home to transform your closet from top to bottom. During the initial three-hour visit, the stylists will sort all of your clothes by item, type and color, while simultaneously eliminating pieces for resale, donation, tailoring, and repair.

In other words, it’s what your spring cleaning dreams are made of.

“The purpose of Fitz is to make getting dressed easier for everyone,” says CEO and Co-Founder Alexandra Wilkis Wilson. “The Fitz team wanted to address the consumer pain points of maximizing closet space (especially in New York City apartments).”

Wilkis Wilson, who is also the co-founder of the luxury e-commerce site Gilt, says she wanted to democratize a service typically reserved for celebrities or the super wealthy.

But while the Fitz base fee might be affordable, you may have to shell out a bit more once the organizing pros have surveyed your stuff. According to the company website, before a stylist arrives at your home, you’re required to submit a photo of your current setup, which the team will use to come up with a list of suggested organizational items you may want to purchase before the appointment begins.

Additionally, anything over those three hours of organizational magic will cost an additional $100 per hour, an add-on that also applies to clients who have more than 200 items (a number that’s pretty easy to reach once clothing, undergarments and jewelry are all factored in).

Also be prepared for the post-appointment list of recommended purchases your stylist will tempt you with if they noticed anything missing from your closet.

Even if your closet is already in tip-top shape, Fitz has plenty of other wardrobe offerings. Stylists can help you plan an outfit for a big event, pack for vacation, shop for some new looks or teach you how to reinvent your existing pieces.

Whether you’re looking to tackle something as simple as breaking out your summer wardrobe or as daunting as switching to a minimalist lifestyle, a little help can go a long way.
